His Honour, Judge Martin Stephens QC, hosted a reception at Middle Temple on Wednesday evening to launch the British Technion Society’s Legacy Campaign. The campaign will raise vital funds for the Technion, which will enable the university to remain a world leader in scientific research, advancing the cause of medicine, technology and innovation around the globe.
At the reception, Judge Stephens and Lois Peltz, co-Chair of BTS, addressed the guests and screened an audio-visual presentation about the breadth of scientific research carried out by the Technion.
Judge Stephens commented: “I was introduced to the Technion many years ago and continue to be constantly amazed and fascinated by the incredible research it produces every year. From the world’s most advanced Parkinson drug to Nobel Prizes for groundbreaking research into cancer treatment, the Technion is one of Israel’s shining lights and with the UK community’s support, the Technion will go from strength to strength. I am very pleased to be supporting such an important campaign.”
Lois Peltz, Co-Chair of the British Technion Society, commented: “Our work is absolutely essential; the Technion is having a major impact on the security and economic prosperity of Israel, and plays an important role in advancing the cause of science, technology and innovation around the world. People in the UK can make a real and lasting contribution to an organisation that lies at the heart of Israel and the future of the Jewish people. “We are indebted to Judge Stephens for his overwhelming support and we hope our campaign will enable others to recognise the extraordinary achievements of the Technion and inspire them to leave a legacy which will help to protect and secure generations to come". |
