Over the last 8 decades, the Technion, Israel's University of Science and Technology, has grown to become one of the most advanced and developed institutes of its kind. The Technion's startling successes in the field of scientific research has positioned it at the cutting edge of technology.
The British Technion Society, is visiting groups and communities around Great Britain, to present fascinating insight into ground breaking develpments at the Technion, which are helping to change poeple's lives around the world. The stunning visual presentation features the most recent successes of the Technion including the most effective drug yet developed to fight the symptoms of Parkinson's disease and insulin-secreting cells which have been grown to treat diabetes.
The presentation also features distinguished Professors Avram Hershko and Aaron Ciechanover who were awarded Israel's first Nobel Prize for Science for their remarkable discovery of the "Ubiquitin System" which rids cells of redundant proteins, a breakthrough in research into cancer and degenerative brain diseases.
Technion's successes have brought hope to thousands suffering from illness and disease as well as providing for the high-tech developments that characterise Israel's success story.
