There are historic links between the Technion, Churchill College, Cambridge and the Churchill Family. The central building of the Technion, the Churchill Auditorium is named in memory of Sir Winston Churchill and his grandson Mr Winston S Churchill is the Honorary Vice President of the British Technion Society.

Students of the Technion often study at Churchill College as part of a unique student exchange programme.

The Cambridge group has a close interest in the scientific and technological developments of the Technion and encourages speakers to visit Cambridge.

Cambridge Editorial  - July 2009

The downpours dispersed to give a bright sunny afternoon for the Rhythm and Tea event which was very well attended raising approximately £1000 for the Cambridge Technion Society Scholarship.

John Meed entertained us with guitar and keyboard folk songs with an exciting raffle to follow.  The committee prepared a delicious tea, which was very much appreciated on this very warm afternoon.  We were also delighted to welcome Tony Bernstein, executive director of the British Technion Society.  He addressed us on the latest developments at the Technion, of particular fascination was generating electrical power from embedded piezo electric crystals embedded in the road surface.  We will also be hearing more about the Technion's involvement with the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, where the Technion was involved with the atlas particle detector.  Further progress has been made at the institute on the development of neurological medications - now being proscribed by the NHS in the UK i.e. Azilect.  The pill camera is another development now widely used for intestinal investigation.  We were pleased to raise just over £1000 to aid students and their amazing research.
